In-Home Support Services (IHSS)
In-home support services (IHSS) empower you to direct your own care. You can select an attendant who best meets your individual needs, rather than having a doctor or agency decide for you. This gives you the authority to make your own decisions about adult and pediatric support services in your home. In Colorado, IHSS enables you to manage your in-home care with the oversight of a participating home care agency. IHSS is designed for individuals who require specialized and detailed care, medical assistance at home, or support to maintain their independence while living at home.
Health Maintenance Activities (HMA)
HMA consist of routine, health-related tasks provided in your home or community for individuals with disabilities who may struggle to perform these tasks independently. While these activities are typically carried out by a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Registered Nurse (RN), they can be performed under the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program by trained non-medical providers under the supervision of a home care agency. Services include assistance with skilled transfers, mobility, dressing, specialized diets, toileting, exercise, medication management, respiratory care, etc.
Homemaker Activities
Homemaker services consist of general household activities to ensure a healthy and safe living environment. These services are offered when the individual typically responsible for these tasks is absent or unable to manage them.

- Routine light housecleaning, such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathroom and kitchen areas
- Meal preparation
- Dishwashing
- Bed making
- Laundry
- Shopping

Would You Qualify for In-Home Support Services?
